History

Sen Group is a 60 year old diversified group of businesses based out of Kolkata. The group was incorporated in 1950, under the name "Assam Cane Dealers", which used to deal with canes and cane related products for marketing throughout the nation as well as foreign countries. We were producer of wooden logs and were also the supplier of Fish-Plate to the Eastern Railway. At present, this total business is being taken cared by North Eastern Traders, which is one of the oldest companies of Sen Group.

In the year of 1959, we started distributorships of Animal Health Care Products in the name of Sen Brothers Pvt. Ltd. After gathering experience in business of animal health care products for three decades, we have now introduced ourselves in the business of FMCG.

In the year of 1974, the group unveiled its new corporate individuality – Urban Hi-Breed Farm Limited, which came with commercial layer farms. In 1982, it started its first feed mill for producing poultry, cattle and fish feed in Joka (Kolkata).

In the year of 1978, it first constructed a thirteen storied building at Howrah on its own land named as Madhusudan apartment and gradually expanded as a real estate firm named as Nirman, engaged in promoting and constructing housing sites in Kolkata and suburbs.

In 1996, it opened two new production units to meet the highly increasing market demand in the north and west sector of Kolkata that are located at Madhyamgram and Uluberia.

In the year of 1985, Hi-Bred International Sales and Service was incorporated, which was one of the oldest and largest broiler and layer breeder farm producing eggs and day-old chicks in eastern India. The farms are located in Joka (Kolkata), Ranchi (Bihar), Jhargram, Konchouki.

In the year 2003, Sen Chemicals was incorporated, which is engaged in manufacturing of organic manure copper sulphate, organic manure and bio-fertilizer, fungicides, pesticides and industrial chemicals.

Another enterprise under the umbrella of the Sen Group is Xentric Technologies Pvt. Ltd. that is incorporated in the year of 2011. It has introduced itself as one of the pioneers in the arena of IT software, customized web solution at extremely competitive cost.
